About Lost Prairie Farm
Lost Prairie Farm, LLC is a small family-owned and operated farm in Burns, Oregon. We breed and raise British White and Belted Galloway cattle, along with registered and commercial Boer and Boer-influenced goats.
Our operation began in 2007 when we purchased 160 acres of unimproved grazing pasture in northwest Montana. Here we built our farm to include corrals, livestock handling facilities, fenced and cross-fenced pastures and hay production. From 2008 until 2020, we raised registered Shorthorn and commercial Red Angus cattle. We disbursed both herds during the summer of 2020 with the intent of slowing our pace and retiring. Perhaps this would give us the much needed time to complete out-off knee replacement surgeries, etc.
Fall rolled in and our farm sat quietly with only a few peeps from our goats until one day when we saw Beltie and British White calves and fell in love! We thoroughly researched both breeds and learned they are very well suited for the northeast Montana terrain, its weather, and our natural grass-fed grass-finished feeding program. During late spring 2022, we moved our entire farming operation to eastern Oregon where our cattle and goats continue to thrive.
Here in eastern Oregon, the goal of our cattle and meat goat programs remains unchanged -- to raise quality breeding stock. We offer cattle and goat stock for sale throughout the year. Please let us know if you have any questions or are interested in what we have available.
We also produce and sell quality hay in 3x4 large square bales and small two-string bales.
